Good Morning Canaan...

This is how Eli and Judah say good morning to Canaan most days... oh boy.

New Jammers

How excited are these boys about their new jammers... They were freaking out. It was almost impossible to put them in their beds right after this video they were so keyed up, and now its even more impossible to get them into their regular clothes in the morning... so from here on out, most pictures will probably have them in these jammers... and I promise, I will wash them as often as I can :)

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Here is Canaan's first official roll over... I'm so proud.

He then started screaming because he couldn't get himself back over... and so we are entering a new stage, very very fun, but requiring alot more of me... which is always a good thing. I need to let go of what I think needs to be done and just be present for whatever happens. Flow, I need to flow. FLOW.

Thats the lesson of the day folks ;)

Ahhh... Its FALL...

Fall is my favorite... i'm such a sucker for it. As soon as the air gets a tiny bit cooler and crisp I immediately break out my crockpot, pie pans, and rolling pin. I light cinnamom candles and pull out my Christmas CD's... really... i just can't help it. Like I said... I'm a sucker. I tried to take a picture of our first fire in the fireplace this season but Johnny gave me a "are you kidding me" look, so, no fire picture... but if you try really hard I'm sure you can imagine it. However, here are some pictures of the boys playing in the leaves... its definitely time to put on those 'boggans, or as Eli calls them, "bombees".

This week's happenings...

I was busy unloading the groceries, washing the dishes, cooking dinner, or doing something that involved being in the kitchen when I heard Eli and Judah giggling to themselves. I turned around to see this image... little Canaan wearing these cool shades. I thought Judah did a pretty good job getting them on him, although Canaan was not as impressed, as you can see by
the look on his face.
We also took a little trip to Robber's Cave for our cousin's birthday where I found a cute little green caterpillar crawling up my arm, as shown in the picture below.

Then, Eli and Judah got to wear their "office shirts" like daddy when he goes to work (is it ok that these boys think "dressing up" is putting on a polo shirt and wearing a cowboy belt buckle?)

And we finished it off with attempting another group photo where almost everyone was looking at the camera without a thumb in their mouth. Hurray!

And that just about sums up last week for us... always a joy! :)

A New High Chair...

Canaan got a new high chair this week! We had to get a new one because our old one, well, broke. Let me share the story...

So, we had an antique wooden high chair that both Eli and Judah used. Last year I decided to take it outside for its usual once a month hose down because, let me just tell you, wooden high chairs get really disgusting and are really hard to clean. At that same high chair cleaning moment, Johnny decides to have our usual once a month bonfire to burn all of our "burnable" trash (we live out in the country so we dont' have trash pick up... its way easier to burn), and while he was burning it he decided to go ahead and torch our old and very gross loveseat... we had converted it into our dog's loveseat so it was pretty horrific. So, as he sets it aflame I call out, "do you think it's super flamable?" to which he responds, "Maybe", and poof... the whole thing goes up into enormous flames. Now, this is very dangerous because we are in the woods, so all of the treetops above are in danger of catching on fire too and that would just be a ridiculous mess. so he yells out, "grab the hose!" so, with all of my adrenaline pumping i grab the hose and start running up the hill with it (which is a pretty big deal, I think I was 7 months preggo with canaan at the time). So, the hose somehow amazingly wraps around the wooden high chair and literally shatters it into bits (we ended up using it as fire wood that winter).

All that to say... we got a new high chair.

And here is Canaan sitting very handsomely in it. (I am so glad there is no video of me trying to run up that hill and hurl the hose over the fence... that would not be pretty) (man do I say "so" alot)

John Mark McMillan

Hey! Here is a link to a video of John Mark McMillan singing the song "Skeleton Bones" from his latest cd "The Medicine". These lyrics are amazing. I could listen to them over and over. The Holy Spirit is all over them...

"Skeleton Bones"

Peel back our ribs again
and stand inside of our chest.
We just wanna' love you
We just wanna' love you

Peel back the veil of time
And let us see You with our naked eyes
We just wanna' love you
We just wanna' love you

Skeleton bones stand at the sound
of eternity on the lips of the found
Yeah and gravestones roll
To the rhythm of the sound of you

Skeleton bones stand at the sound
of eternity on the lips of the found
So separate those doors
And let the Son of resurrection in.

We want your blood to flow inside our body
We want your wind inside our lungs
We just wanna' love you
We just wanna' love you

Oh let us adore the Son of Glory dressed in love
Open up your gates before him
Crown Him, stand Him up
